Slovak documentary filmmakers Lucia Kašová, Barbora Sliepková, and Viera Čákanyová are currently in mid-production on Wasteland Chronicles (Zóny nikoho), a dystopian documentary that delves into three major ecological disasters in Slovakia: the tar dump in the village of Predajná, and the pollution caused by chemical factories on Slovakia's eastern border and in Bratislava.
In the film, a descendant of modern humans navigates a poisoned landscape, searching for a way to save the planet after it has been rendered uninhabitable. The film explores the possibility of using fungi and other microorganisms to break down dangerous chemical compounds that have infiltrated our environment and even our bodies.

The result is a strong testimony of one fate, in which, however, more general themes are also nonviolently reflected. Whether it is the question of what price to strive for such a radical kind of freedom, or the transformation of the island connected with the construction of a modern supermarket.
Our documentary production was thus complemented by a rather unconventional topic, into which the director breathed her own unique style. After my favorite Fifth Ship, The Sailor anchored in our harbor this time, and Slovak cinematography has thus grown with another remarkable title.
If you give yourself strict rules, even living in freedom will bind you. Johnson was born at sea and has lived there his entire life, and now he is unable to change his lifestyle and go live on land. What I found during filming is that absolute freedom puts you in chains.
Playing music is still unacceptable in the eyes of many in Afghanistan, especially when it comes to young women. The film portrays the girls' desires, dreams and preparation for performances and follows them on their tour in Central Europe.

Who is Robert Fico, really? Director Lucia Kašová, who prepared an episode about him for the documentary series Ex-Prime Ministers, is clear on this: he is a person who tries to defend the indefensible, or a person who wishes to be a medieval absolutist ruler, to whom morality does not speak.
